As part of Better Cotton Large Farm Week 2026, participants visited Global Textile in the Kuyichirchiq district.
The main question of the day was simple: how can Better Cotton principles work at this scale?
For our company, this is already a practical task. Around 50,000 hectares in the Tashkent region are currently being prepared for Better Cotton certification. This process is becoming part of an existing system for managing 75,000 hectares, where field data, Cropwise, satellite monitoring, GPS-based machinery tracking and agronomic processes are brought together within a single operational system. This foundation makes it possible to apply Better Cotton principles consistently across a large area.
The discussion was therefore highly practical. Participants exchanged views on responsible resource use, crop protection, working conditions and the improvement of agricultural practices.
Particular interest was generated by the work of an international agronomy expert who is working with the Global Textile team to review selected practices and adapt international experience to local conditions.
The meeting was an active exchange of questions, approaches and experience among specialists from different countries.
A field visit was also planned as part of the programme. Unfortunately, there was not enough time to make it there this time. So the fields will definitely be part of the next meeting.
Today, we talked about the system. Next time, we will see it in action.
