On June 22nd, 2022, a joint International Labor Organization (ILO)/ International Financial Corporation (IFC) Mission visited the enterprises of the Global Textile group of companies in the Fergana region.
The meeting was within the framework of a feasibility study aimed to develop an optimal strategy for supporting the textile industry in Uzbekistan.
During the visit the delegation visited drip irrigation system, a cotton ginning factory and a new textile complex Global Textile Infinity which is currently under construction. The guests observed the formation of raw cotton buds supplied with proper irrigation, got acquainted with the cotton processing, visited the knitting and dyeing workshops.
Representatives of the mission highly appreciated the achievements of the company and were impressed by the innovative technological solutions of the cotton-textile cluster Global Textile. The guests discussed the modern approaches and tools of Better Work — a comprehensive programme bringing together all levels of the garment industry to improve working conditions and respect of labour rights for workers, and boost the competitiveness of businesses on international market.
