The Power of Textiles

At Global Textile, we often talk about exports, entering new markets, and growth. From the outside, the textile industry may seem like just business — numbers, contracts, and transactions. But in reality, there is much more behind it.

Historically, Uzbekistan’s industry and infrastructure have been built around cotton and textiles. Reforms initiated by the country’s leadership have given this sector a new impulse, and today the cotton-textile industry can rightfully be called the backbone of the economy. The strong development of the textile sector has become one of Uzbekistan’s key competitive advantages.

Textiles begin with the land: agriculture provides cotton and natural fibers. From them come yarn and fabric, which later become our clothing and home textiles. To ensure fabrics are high-quality and comfortable, technologies, laboratories, and skilled people all play a role. From there, textiles naturally become part of everyday life — in hospitals, homes, vehicles, and construction.

At Global Textile, we see our role as being a successful part of this larger system. By developing the textile industry, we help other sectors grow, create jobs, and contribute to the country’s sustainable economic development.
