Uzbekistan at the heart of global dialogue on sustainable cotton

On June 18–19, the Better Cotton Conference — one of the key global forums on sustainable cotton, traceability, and certification — is taking place in Izmir.

Among the speakers was the CEO of Global Textile, Muzaffar Razakov, who joined the panel discussion on certification and sustainable supply chains.

In his address, he outlined the transformation of the cotton sector, the importance of international standards, and how Global Textile’s cluster model integrates BCI, GOTS, BSCI, and GSP+ requirements — ensuring traceability from field to finished garment. He emphasized certification not as a formality, but as a framework for meaningful, measurable change.
