Decent Work Begins with Clear Rules and Daily Practice

Representatives of Global Textile took part in the BCI Uzbekistan practical seminar “Decent Work in Uzbekistan’s Cotton Production: BCI Approaches and Tools for the 2026/2027 Season.”

This topic is particularly important in cotton production. During the season, thousands of people work in the fields at the same time, involving different specialists and teams, while the intensity of work increases significantly. That is why requirements related to working conditions, safety, workers’ rights, and the organisation of processes need to be clear to everyone involved.

The seminar covered Better Cotton Initiative (BCI) approaches and tools used in this area, as well as practical situations that arise directly in the field. Part of the meeting was held as an open dialogue, allowing participants to ask questions, share experience, and discuss specific workplace situations.

For Global Textile, such meetings have practical value. The knowledge gained becomes part of the work of our agricultural teams and helps us consistently implement Better Cotton Initiative (BCI) requirements where our entire production chain begins — in the cotton fields.
