Global Textile Participates in Uzbekistan–US Business Meetings in Samarkand

On October 19, Samarkand hosted a major round of business discussions between Uzbekistan and the United States. During the official visit of US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, representatives of nearly 300 American companies arrived in Uzbekistan to explore opportunities in trade, investment, and industrial cooperation.

Global Textile was among the active industry participants, engaging in discussions across two major sectors: agriculture and textiles. CEO Muzaffar Razakov took part in the main business programme, including the strategic industry session “Agriculture & Textiles.”

The discussions focused on practical development models for both industries, potential manufacturing partnerships, and the adoption of modern technologies. In agriculture, Global Textile is exploring cooperation with American companies on digitalisation and smart irrigation systems, with an emphasis on practical applications in large-scale agricultural operations.

Commenting on the growing momentum of international business relations, Muzaffar Razakov noted in an interview:

“Over the past year, we have seen considerable activity. Through his determination and efforts, our President has opened doors for cooperation between countries.”

The meetings also resulted in signed cooperation documents with American companies and organisations. Among them was a Memorandum of Understanding between Global Textile and Make American Cotton Great Again (MACGA), establishing a framework for exploring cooperation opportunities in the cotton and textile sector.

The relationship with MACGA began before the Samarkand meetings. Shortly after arriving in Uzbekistan, representatives of the American company, travelling as part of the larger US business delegation, visited Global Textile’s manufacturing facilities in Fergana.

During the visit, the delegation toured the production sites and gained a closer understanding of Global Textile’s vertically integrated operations, from cotton processing to finished garments. The scale of the facilities, technical capabilities, and organisation of manufacturing operations made a strong impression on the American visitors.

Global Textile’s involvement in the Samarkand meetings covered several areas of potential cooperation, from agricultural technology and smart irrigation to textile manufacturing and international trade. The signed documents and discussions have established a clear agenda for continued engagement with American partners.
