Winter irrigation

Global Textile is a cotton–textile cluster that manages more than 70,000 hectares of agricultural land. Here, we cultivate strategically important raw materials for our company cotton as well as other agricultural crops, approaching land management as a long-term resource.
Winter is a period when the soil enters a dormant state and natural processes slow down. From the outside, it may seem that work in the fields comes to a halt. However, for Global Textile, the off-season is a crucial stage of preparation.
During this time, we focus on soil management, its condition, and restoration. At the same time, training programs for agronomists are conducted, the results of the past season are analyzed, and equipment undergoes maintenance and repairs.
Special attention is given to soil moisture management. We do not apply a single approach to all fields. Every decision is made carefully and selectively, taking into account soil type, its characteristics, weather conditions, and the actual needs of plants. Water is supplied only where and when it is truly necessary.
For us, sustainable results begin long before spring with attention to detail at a time when the land appears to be “asleep.”
